Testimonials

“WRCS was a great school to attend. The staff and teachers are very welcoming to anyone that is new, and build friendships with all students, creating a calmer and more enjoyable learning environment.”
– Former Student

“WRCS saved me in my worst years in life, starting there in 2018 I knew nothing and was just a teenager who hated school, then I heard about the school, gave it a try and it was the best thing I ever did. The best thing about WRCS is when you need the help someone is always there to help. There’s no waiting for it, it’s there as soon as possible and that goes for mentally and physically. WRCS is honestly the best school in Griffith, there’s no denying it. There’s no judging where people come from or judging people for what they wear, or how they learn, if they’re really smart or not as smart. Staff at WRCS made food for breakfast and lunch for us! If you never had enough money to buy breakfast and lunch, or no money at all, you wouldn’t go without as they would always have something there for us to eat and that says a lot about the kind of school they are. I walked into WRCS in 2018 a ‘troubled student’ not knowing a thing. A shy student who didn’t know where I was heading in life. I walked out and graduated in 2023 knowing my worth, potential, and where I’m supposed to be.”

“I’m glad that I came across Western Riverina Community School when I did. I’m forever appreciative for all the encouragements, motivations, support, help, assistance, kindness, patience, understanding, advice, and guidance, and for always being there for me!! I started at WRCS over a year and three months ago, and ever since that day I have grown into the strong independent individual I am today. I dread the day I leave and say goodbye to my second family. I greatly recommend Western Riverina Community School to anyone who would greatly benefit from the endless opportunities.”
– Brandan Furness, 2024 School Captain

“I have been at WRCS for about one and a half years now, and I am so happy that I came to WRCS when I did. I never liked going to school but this school changed that. WRCS made me enjoy coming to school, seeing my friends and they have the BEST teachers. We have such supportive teachers and a strong community. WRCS has given me so many opportunities that will help me in the future. This school has helped me a lot, not just with schoolwork but my mental and physical health too. Everyone always checks up on you and is always there for you. I am so grateful for what this school has taught me and who it has turned me into. There’s no judging, bullying, it’s just a big second family.”

“My son started going to school at WRCS after years spent struggling in mainstream high school. Transitioning to WRCS has had a positive impact on my son not only academically, but socially and personally. He is a different boy. The dedicated staff at WRCS go above and beyond to provide individualised support for every student, in every way. My son has found a huge sense of belonging at WRCS and his confidence has increased. He is academically succeeding and thriving due to the one-on-one support he receives. He is happy and he is motivated to go to school. Due to the support, patience, and tolerance shown by both the staff and fellow students, my son now has the best chance to reach his full potential. His future has never looked brighter.”

“The staff at WRCS have been a huge support for my daughter and we are so grateful for their acceptance, understanding, and their ability to be able to accommodate her at this wonderful school. WRCS has given her the opportunity to attend a local high school, continuing her education and gaining important life skills. The staff have helped her to achieve academic and personal growth. She has achieved goals that she is proud of through the support, guidance, and acceptance of WRCS.”
